Linked Apps are smartphone apps that link your personal credit and debit cards or integrated third-party applications. Linked Apps also allows you to earn cash back or rewards from participating merchants. It is as simple as it sounds. All you have do is download the app(s), register your account(s), then enter your personal credit or debit card(s) or enter your financial institution login. Once you plug in your card information, you will earn rebates automatically on every qualifying purchases from participating merchant. You can stack up on rebate along with your coupons, cash back from credit cards, and loyalty programs. Nothing will disqualify you from earning a rebate from a participating merchant (as long as you don't return the purchased good), but there may be some limited use through linked apps. Some apps will not allow you to multilink. In simpler terms, you will only be able to link your credit/debit cards with one app. According to Doctor of Credit, linked apps featuring Dosh, Swagbucks, Yelp, MOGL, and Spent will only allow you to link with one of these programs.
You can always unlink and relink, but this may be a problem for many people. For me, whenever I purchase from a merchant that is a linked app participant, I always confirm which linked app provides the greatest rebate for that single merchant beforeI purchase the merchant's goods. Therefore, I always unlink and relink my linked apps, but many people may find it difficult to do or annoying, and probably will leave it as it is or not even bother opting it. Regardless many today are not familiar with linked apps, which is unfortunate because earnings from one single linked app alone can be significant. Some apps will allow you to link with other apps, such as Groupon, Uber Visa Local Offers, and Drop. Linked apps are a great and easy way to earn, because there is literally nothing you need to do! Nothing other than signing up and plugging in your card numbers. You'll automatically earn from a bountiful number of merchants found online, from apps, and in-store just by purchasing goods and services with your credit/debit cards.
Is It Data Encrypted Though?
Many, who do not sign up may be afraid to give their personal and sensitive information, or simply do not trust apps. Providing sensitive information to companies or apps you never heard of may sound sketchy, but your card is more protected than you think. Companies that provide linked apps uses a personal data encryption software to prevent leakage of sensitive information. Additionally, there are protections built in to credit and debit cards to protect from unauthorized use. Many providers will personally contact you for any suspected fraudulent charges.
